France have been dealt one other injury blow on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Lucas Hernandez dominated out of the complete event after injuring his knee ligaments in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Australia.
Bayern Munich defender Hernandez, 26, limped off the pitch after injuring his knee in a collision with Mathew Leckie.
The Australian beat Hernandez to the ball and delivered the cross for Craig Goodwin’s opening objective.
“Like the whole group, players and staff, I am extremely sorry for Lucas,” Deschamps mentioned in a brief French FA assertion confirming Hernandez’s injury.
“We are losing an important player. Lucas is a warrior. know him well and he is a courageous player. On behalf of the group, I wish him the best possible recovery.”
